I wonder how the numbered luggage tags correlate to the cabin numbers?

For this puzzle, both the cabin number and surnames are relevant.

For each bag number, use the cabin number to locate a specific letter from the surname. (ex. if you were doing bag #124, the 8th letter of Caldwell is L. Do this for all 5 bag numbers to create your code word.
